CSC_0853Nagpur: Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday advocated organizing of ‘Advantage MIHAN’ Event in Delhi or Mumbai to facilitate starting of more and more industries in MIHAN. Gadkari was presiding over a meeting of MIHAN Task Force Committee held at Ravibhavanon Thursday.

Gadkari is Chairman of the  MIHAN Task Force Committee. The meeting was attended by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Additional Chief Secretary of Airports Development Department Dr P S Meena, MIHAN’s Vice President and Managing Director Tanaji Satre, Mayor Pravin Datke, Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Shyam Wardhane, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, MLA Sameer Meghe and others.

Gadkari further said that those industrialists who have took possession of lands for starting their companies in MIHAN but have not set up any units should be given an opportunity to start their companies instead of taking back the lands. Efforts will be made at war-footing to pursue the MIHAN related projects pending before Central Government. Similarly, skilled youths from Nagpur city and district should be given priority in employment in the companies functioning at MIHAN or starting to function in future, appealed Gadkari.

A total of 81 companies including 59 in Special Economic Zone and 22 outside economic sector have so far invested in MIHAN projects. 18 of the companies have started functioning. So far, 5500 persons directly and 2000 indirectly have gained employment in MIHAN project. Steps are being taken for setting up of Police Station and Fire Brigade Service in MIHAN. The building for Police Station should be built by MIHAN and for water supply to Fire Brigade an agreement with NMC should be negotiated, said Gadkari.
