Indian Gymkhana Club in Dhantoli here in the city will be charged with more interest on this Sunday, Nov 22, due to elections of the Club, right from 5 pm to 8 pm. It is a club of members from various walks of life. Major contestants are Nilesh Gadia and Mahesh Khandelwal from their different panels for the post of secretary of the Club.

Gadia being a Gujarati is trying to attract Gujarati members, and Khandelwal is also believed to have a good hold on the members of the Club, though Adv Manohar family too maintain its dominance on the Club and had hosted a grand new-year party to his members on the 31st December of 2014.

For the post of president of Club, Aniruddha Choubey is the only candidate who enjoys the support of both the groups. The membership of Club is 600 approximately, and the members are from all walks of life with majority of lawyers and doctors.

The Club came into controversy recently due to alleged gambling and quarrels among members and an alleged embezzlement of Club funds.
