Mattar paneer is a vegetarian north Indian dish consisting of peas and paneer in a tomato based sauce, spiced with garam masala. It is often served with rice and Naan.
400 gms fresh mutter
150 gms paneer
1 tbsp coriander powder
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp haldi
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 onions [chopped]
1 tbsp coriander leaves
Oil to fry
2 onion [deiced]
4 tomatoes [pulp]
1 inch ginger
5 cloves garlic
Salt to taste
4 tbsp fresh cream
Grind together onion, coriander powder, red chili powder, haldi, ginger and garlic and make a fine paste.
Heat oil in a kadhai and fry paneer cubes till golden brown.
In the same oil put the paste and sauté. Add mutter and cook well.
Add tomato pulp, salt and little quantity of water.
Cook till peas are soften and add paneer to it and simmer for few minutes.
Add garam masala powder and half of fresh cream, mix well and bring it to boil.
Put it into serving bowl garnish with fresh cream and coriander leaves.
Serve hot with naan and enjoy.
