Nagpur: The French Ambassador to India Francois Richier on Wednesday visited Nagpur Municipal Corporation and held a meeting with Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, NIT Chairman Shyam Wardhane, Managing Director of NMRCL Brijesh Dixit and other officials in connection with Smart City project.
In the meeting, Brijesh Dixit made a presentation on Nagpur Metro Rail and Feeder Services. After the detailed discussion the meeting, the French Ambassador expressed his happiness over the progress made by Nagpur Metro Rail in such a short period and extended his good wishes for success of the project.
An agency in France named Agence Francaise de Development (AFD) has planned to extend financial assistance to the Nagpur Metro Rail Project. Subsequently, a member of the delegation accompanying the French Ambassador, Nicolas Fornage paid a goodwill visit to Metro House, the office of NMRCL. Nicolas Fornage is chief of AFD in India. He held an extensive discussion with Brijesh Dixit over the issue of financial assistance. Fornage assured to pursue the proposal for financial aid to Metro Rail Project. Others who were present in the meeting include S Ramnath, Executive Director (Planning), S M Apte, Deputy General Manager (Public Relations and Planning) and others.
