nuwj-health-camp Nagpur: The Nagpur Union of Working Journalists (NUWJ) in assoication with Lata Mangeshar Hospital,organised a free health check-up camp at the Tilak Patrakar Bhavan, Panchsheel Square.

Many journalists, non-journalists and media employees with their family members benefitted from the day-long camp wherein medicines were also distributed free of cost.

The following checks/tests were performed— random blood sugar, blood pressure and ECG.

Specialists in medicine, surgery, ENT, gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology and paediatrics were present for consultation. Family health card was also issued to the members.

The dedicated team of doctors and their support staff included — Dr Ajeet Saoji, Dr Aniruddha Deoke, Dr Manohar, Dr Saboo, Dr Meenakshi, Dr Nilesh Joshi, Dr Sainani, Dr Dhok, Dr Anjali Bhure, Jitendra Muley, Vishal Khursange and Shalini Patil among others. Sister Leena was the course co-cordinator of the basic life support demonstration.

At the outset, the camp was be inaugurated by Dr Amol Deshmukh, Secretary, (VSPM) while Dr Kajal Mitra, dean, NKP Salve Medical College was prominently present.

Dr Deshmukh promised to provide quality services and a green channel for mediapersons that would help them get speedy services in LMH at a subsidised rate. He also announced Aravind Babu Deshmukh award for outstanding journalist while addressing the gathering.

Dr Mitra was open to having courses in stress management for the journalists so that they lead a healthy life. NUWJ president Bramha Shankar Tripathi, NUWJ general secretary Anupam Soni, Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust president Pradipkumar Maitra and secretary Shirish Borkar shared the dais.
