Four including two youth commit suicide

Four people including two youth committed suicide in the city on August 20, 2016. The names of the deceased are identified as Amit Agrawal, Rahul Gitte, Kalawati Panthavne, Raja alias Santosh Kolche. All the suicides were committed in different parts of the city. Surprisingly, the cause for these four people committing suicide has not been ascertained as yet.

According to police sources, Amit Ashok Agrawal aged 28 years and a resident of Kundanlal Gupta Nagar consumed poison last night. When his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo) where he was admitted and undergoing treatment. However, while undergoing treatment and the doctors treating him declared dead. On receipt of information, the cops of Yashodhara Police Station reached the spot and registered a case of accidental death.

The second suicide occurred in the jurisdiction of Panchpaoli Police Station. Another youth identified as Rahul Sudhakar Gitte aged 22 years and a resident of Tandapeth, Mochipura committed suicide by hanging himself with the help of a dupatta tied to the wooden beam of his house at around 10:30 am of August 19, 2016. He was alone in the house at that time.

On receipt of information, the cops of Panchpaoli Police Station reached the spot and after finishing the panchanama sent the body for post-mortem to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo). The police officers of Panchpaoli Police Station have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating further.

The third incident also occurred in the jurisdiction of Panchpaoli Police Station. The deceased identified as Kalawati Yadavrao Panthavne aged 60 years and a resident of Balabhaupeth had committed suicide by consuming poison in the night of August 19, 2016. She too was taken to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo) for treatment. However, during the course of her treatment, she breathed her last. On receipt of information of her death, the Panchpaoli Police Station have registered a case of accidental death and is investigating further.

The fourth incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan area. A labourer identified as Raja alias Santosh Kolche aged 27 years and a resident of Vayusena Nagar committed suicide by hanging himself.

On receipt of information, Police Sub Inspector Matte along with his staff reached the spot. The cops dispatched the body for post-mortem after performing the panchanama. Matte claimed that Santosh was habitual of imbibing alcohol every day. Late last night, he returned back to his house heavily drunk. After that he threw out his wife and children out of the house late in the night. The wife and the children took refuge in a house a few meters away from their house. On August 20, 2016, morning when the wife of the deceased returned back to her house, she found the main door of the house locked from inside. In spite of repeated calls, she received no response from her. When she peered inside the house through a hole in the window, she found her husband hanging.

She immediately called the neighbours and informed the Gittikhadan police. Gittikhadan Police personnel reached the spot and dispatched the dead body to Government Hospital for post mortem after completing the formalities of panchanama. The cops of Gittikhadan police have registered a case of Accidental death and is investigating further.
