For a Nobel Cause, musical concert organised by Indian Air Force at futala lake

Air Force, Nagpur and Nagpurians together took oath that they will not throw garbage in Futala Lake and contribute there best to keep Futala Lake clean and Garbage free.

A musical concert was organized by the Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur on 03 May 14 at Futala Lake, The concert was presented by the team consisting of 25 Musicians of No. 5 Air Force Band led by Warrant Officer SP Rajar. The objective of this event was to take up the step to generate awareness and citizen involvement in being sensitive about the ecology at Futala. The program also aims to create a better cohesion with the citizens of Nagpur. Also, the musical concert was aimed to showcase the IAF among the citizens of Nagpur, particularly the youth and motivating them to choose IAF as the career option.

DSC_2062Air Marshal P Kanakraj Ati Vishisht Seva Medal Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Nagpur was the Chief Guest on the occasion. All Senior Officers of Maintenance; Command Nagpur including Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Senior Air and Administration Staff Officer, Air Officer Logistics Management and a No. of service personnel were also present during the event. Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate, Pravin Darade Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust, Superintendent Engineer NIT, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner Nagpur Municipal Corporation were present on the occasion.

The Air Force Band displayed their skill through playing Fan Fare, various martial tunes and conventional Indian & Western film songs like “Turn sa nahi dekha”, “Hai apna dil toh awara”, “Husn ke lakhon “Kisike mushkurah pe”, “Jane kahan mera jigar gaya ji”, “Hal kaisa hai janab ka” which invoked the sense of patriotism and enthralled the civil populance of Nagpur city.
