Nagpur: In a decisive action against human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, the Crime Branch’s Social Security Wing busted a prostitution racket at a hotel in the Hudkeshwar area and rescued a minor girl. The raid was conducted under Operation Shakti, an ongoing initiative launched by the Nagpur Police Commissioner to dismantle trafficking networks across the city.
According to police, between 4:40 pm on November 13 and 12:35 am on November 14, 2025, a patrolling team of the Social Security Department received a specific tip-off about illegal activities at Hotel Yashraj Inn, located near the Bahadura Phata toll point on Umred Road. Acting on the information, the team conducted a swift raid on the premises.
During the operation, police apprehended Vidya Dhanraj Fulzhele (45), a resident of Sharda Layout, Kharbi, Wathoda, who was allegedly providing rooms to customers and forcing minor girls into prostitution for monetary gain. A minor victim was rescued from her custody.
Police also seized Rs 2,500 in cash, a mobile phone, a DVR, and other materials collectively valued at Rs 20,730 from the accused.
A case has been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station under Section 143(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA)
The accused and the seized items have been handed over to Hudkeshwar Police for further investigation.
This action was carried out under the supervision of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The raid was executed by a team led by PI Rahul Shire, Constable Prakash Mathankar, and their staff.
