Fire Breaks Out at OPD of Civil Hospital in Punjab’s Ludhiana; No Casualties

Chandigarh: A fire on Thursday broke out at the OPD (Out-Patient Department) of Civil Hospital in Punjab’s Ludhiana, news agency reported. However, patients have been evacuated from the place. Meanwhile, fire tenders are present at the spot.

In an earlier incident, a major fire broke out in the Manik hospital in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra. The fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. The officials rescued 30 patients safely and on time.

However, no deaths were reported in the incident but some patients suffered suffocation due to smoke. Panic gripped the area and locals were also seen helping rescue team in dousing the fire. According to reports in The Hindu, the incident occurred in the basement of the Hospital in the morning. Within minutes bog clouds of smoke were seen coming up to the first floor. According to reports, more than 20 ambulances were pressed into service to rescue the patients. A probe was underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
