Nagpur: The First Information Report (FIR) registered against Shiv and Ritu Agrawal, Directors of Nagpur-based Haveliwala Constructions and Developers Private Limited, has been quashed by the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court recently. The FIR was registered by Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) for allegedly cheating the EEL of Rs 42.98 crore in a land deal, reports said.
The FIR was quashed in pursuance of the settlement reached between the Haveliwala Constructions and Developers Pvt. Ltd and Economic Explosives Limited (Solar Group) which has also been recorded by the High Court, Nagpur, vide its order dated 14.3.2024.
Following the settlement and quashing of the FIR, a public notice/circular/advertisement has already been published in local newspapers to this effect.
It may be recalled that an offence was registered at Wadi Police Station in September 2023 against the Directors of a Nagpur-based construction company for allegedly cheating Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) of Rs 42.98 crore in a land deal.
Based on the complaint lodged by Deputy Manager at EEL, the police had registered a case under Sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code against Shiv and Ritu Agrawal, Directors of Haveliwala Constructions and Developers Private Limited.
The Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the Nagpur Police had launched a probe into the case. As per police, EEL, as part of its expansion plans to establish a research and development unit, had entered into an agreement with Haveliwala Constructions and Developers Private Limited. The deal, signed on July 1, 2022, entailed the purchase of four pieces of land at Mouza Waddhamna and Mouza Suradurdi.
