JIN SHIN JYUTSU PRACTICE – Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient Japanese form of touch therapy that you can perform on yourself to help balance your energy and emotions through stimulating the meridians in your hands. It was discovered in the early 1900’s by Master Jiro Murai, who after recovering from a terminal illness devoted himself to the revival of the Art for future generations. A study at Markey Cancer Center showed that patients of all types and stages of cancer showed positive benefits like reduced stress and nausea after Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments, a simple technique with amazing results.
A basic rule of Jin Shin Jyutsu is that each finger corresponds to a specific emotion or attitude. There are two basic ways to practice holding the fingers:
Firstly, you can either hold all ten fingers, first on one hand then the other, or
Secondly, you can concentrate on the attitudes and benefits associated with just each finger. Each finger is connected to different organs and with its corresponding emotion and attitude.
Hold the finger correlating to the organ you would like to heal or the emotion you would like to claim. Hold for 3-5 minutes breathing deeply.
You have several options when it comes to the length of time to hold the fingers. If you have plenty of time, hold all ten fingers, holding each finger until you feel a pulse arrive in that finger. Another way to hold all ten fingers is simply to hold each finger for two or more breaths. This is a great practice to do throughout the day. It can be very meditative and relaxing.
