In what could be termed as an irony of gender bias, a full grown female fetus was found thrown away in Nag river at Great Nag Road here. Experts informed that the eight month old fetus had died even before she was born, and it was disposed off to mask the truth from society.
Police sources said the cops received information on Tuesday that a fetus has been lying under the bridge over Nag river at Great Nag Road. Later Assistant Police Inspector Pardhan reached the spot along with other policemen. After examining the fetus, it turned out to be of female, who had passed away in the womb itself.
It was revealed that an unidentified woman had thrown the fetus in the river to cover up the crime. Kotwali police have registered the case against unidentified accused under section 318 of IPC.
