Nagpur: Close on the heels of a man’s murder by his relatives, two persons, most probably father-son duo, stabbed a youth repeatedly and tried to kill him for refusing to give them money for liquor. One of the accused has been arrested.

The trouble started when the victim Abdul Shahid Abdul Khalid (26) of Satranjipura was going to meet his friend Vicky Ramteke at about 7.45 on Friday. Midway, one of the accused Rahim Shaha stopped Abdul and asked him to treat him with liquor.

However, Abdul flatly refused do so and hurled abuses on Rahim. At that time the accused Rahim kept quiet and left the place. But after a while, Rahim and his son Nawab Shaha Rahim Shaha (20) of Azamshaha Square, Old Mangalwari, accosted Abdul behind Rahate Hospital, Koshtipura. In a fit of anger, Nawaz Shaha whipped out a knife and stabbed Abdul on his head repeatedly with the clear intention of killing him. After the attack the father-son duo fled the spot. The seriously injured Abdul was taken to a hospital.

Lakadganj PSI Gavai booked the two accused under Sections 307, 504, 34 of the IPC and succeeded in arrested Nawaz Shaha. Further probe is underway.
