Nagpur: A tragic early morning road accident in the Mankapur police station limits claimed the life of a 34-year-old man on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 4:15 AM near Awasthi Nagar, in front of a well-known showroom, when a speeding three-wheeler goods vehicle rammed into a motorcycle.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Santosh Suresh Ingole (34), a resident of Kasturba Nagar, Jaripatka. Santosh, who was engaged in private work, was returning home in the early hours when the accident took place.
Preliminary reports indicate that as he was riding from Awasthi Chowk towards Shafi Nagar Bridge, a fast-moving goods carrier coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with his motorcycle. The impact of the crash left him critically injured.

Following the accident, the driver abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled. Bystanders rushed the injured victim to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Dinesh Ingole, Mankapur Police registered a case against the आरोपी driver, identified as Ashish Gupta, under charges of rash and negligent driving. The accused has since been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, while once again raising serious concerns about overspeeding and reckless driving on city roads.
