Nagpur: In a bizarre incident, three members of a family, including two women, not only attempted to murder a youth over a petty issue but manhandled a team of investigating cops led by a Lady PSI. The accused also smashed glasses of the police vehicle. The incident occurred on Thursday morning in MIDC area. The three accused family members have been booked but not arrested as yet.

The trouble started when the complainant Shailesh Rajesh Ingle (25), resident of Prasad Nagar, behind Celebration Hall, Jaitala Road, had gone to Hiranwar Layout, near a crematorium, for constructing his hut. While Shailesh was cleaning the ground of shrubs and wild grass with the help of an axe, two of the accused Pratima Murlidhar Suryavanshi (45) and Darshana Suryavanshi, both residents of the same area, objected to construction of the hut by Shailesh.

The accused women first hurled abuses on Shailesh and later snatched the axe from him and hit him with the intention of killing him. However, Shailesh managed to dodge the blow and fled the spot. He straightaway went to MIDC Police Station for lodging a complaint. However, while Shailesh was at the police station, another accused Praful Murlidhar Suryavanshi started abusing and beating him.

Based on a complaint filed by Shailesh, the Lady PSI S N Ramteke booked the three accused under Sections 307, 294, 34 of IPC. After registering cases against the three accused, the Lady PSI Ramteke along with a team of policemen went to the spot for investigation.

While the cops were carrying out investigation, the two accused women Pratima and Darshana Suryavanshi started hurling abuses and manhandled the Police Constable Sahebrao and others. The accused also smashed the glasses of the police vehicle. Taken aback by the audacious acts of the accused, the Lady PSI Ramteke registered a fresh case under Sections 353, 332, 34 of IPC read with Sub-Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
