Fadnavis pays tributes to Bal Thackeray as BJP Chief Amit Shah arrives in Maha

Amid the mounting tensions between two partnering allies in Maharashtra government – BJP and Shiv Sena, the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis accompanied the BJP national president Amit Shah to Chaitya Bhoomi and former Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s memorial at Shivaji Park as Shah arrived in Mumbai on Friday. Later Shah’s convoy left for Garware Club, where Shah met district chiefs, legislators and MPs.was given a grand welcome at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, after he arrived here at around 10.46 AM.

Party members, MPs, legislators, corporators, and activists had all gathered in a large number to welcome BJP chief.

Shah begins his three day visit to Mumbai on Friday, which is a part of his 95 day nation wide tour, to review present state of party organisations and widen alliance for a big win in the 2019 parliamentary elections. It was Shah’s maiden visit to the maximum city, especially after BJP’s sterling performance in the civic and local body elections.

Shah was accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, revenue minister Chandrakant Patil, education minister Vinod Tawde and tourism minister Jaiprakash Rawal, state unit president Raosaheb Danve, and city unit president Ashish Shelar. A make shift podium was created outside the airport where he was garlanded and party activists showered on him rose petals.

In a traditional welcome, party activists played dhol tasha while the shouted slogans Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Bharatiya Janata Partycha Vijay Aso, Vande Mataram and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan Sab Ka Saath Sabka Vikas. With party posters and flags being displayed, the entire airport area wore a festive look.
