Nagpur:
Former MPCC President and Congress MLC Manikrao Thakre on Thursday charged that the Fadnavis Government was behaving in unparliamentary manner.

“This Government is indulging in actions that have never been done in the parliamentary history of 65 years. I wanted to know the attitude of this Government on the issue of independent Vidarbha State through a question in the House. My question was listed in the Question Hour. But when I scanned the question book I found that my question was deleted and its place a question regarding a Gadchiroli issue was put in. This action of Government is dictatorial. The BJP, during poll campaign, had promised to carve out separate Vidarbha State if the party comes to power. However, now the party’s Government is hesitating to give answer on the question. I just wanted know the attitude of the Government. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister and General Administration Minister deliberately removed my question,” blasted the former MPCC chief.

The issue triggered chaos in the House with Manikrao Thakre and Rajendra Mulak along with other members of Congress creating ruckus. The Deputy Chairman ruled that the issue comes under the purview of Central Government and not the State Government. Therefore, the question is not concerned with the State Government.

That is why he himself decided to remove the question, clarified the Deputy Chairman.

Protest against Aney continues:
The Shiv Sena protest against Advocate General Shrihari Aney, who had come in support of Vidarbha Statehood, is still raging. The party member Neelam Gorhe raised the issue in Council and demanded clarification from Aney. Terming the issue as serious, Gorhe also sought clarification from Government. “Aney is Advocate General of entire State and should work in the interest of it. Aney has not come up with any clarification over his statement. Therefore Shiv Sena demands his sacking. Aney’s statement amounts to breaking the State. My party is in favour of united Maharashtra and will remain united. The BJP should come clean on the issue,” demanded Gorhe.
