Nagpur: A Facebook friendship allegedly turned into a nightmare for a 34-year-old woman from Nagpur after a man reportedly sexually exploited her for months on the false promise of marriage and later assaulted and threatened her when she demanded that he fulfill his promise.
Pachpaoli Police have registered a case against two persons under serious charges, including rape, cheating, assault and criminal intimidation.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, a resident of the Pachpaoli area, she came in contact with accused Tushar Indurkar through Facebook. Their online friendship gradually developed into a close relationship, during which the accused allegedly promised to marry her.
The complainant alleged that on the night of June 24, 2023, the accused invited her to a family function at his house. Later, he allegedly took her to an open area behind the house and established physical relations with her against her will after assuring her of marriage.
The woman further alleged that the accused continued exploiting her for a long period under the pretext of marriage.
According to the complaint, when she later pressured him to marry her, the accused allegedly assaulted her. She also alleged that one of the accused’s female relatives insulted her, forced her out of the house and threatened to kill her.
Based on the complaint, Pachpaoli Police have registered offences against both accused persons and launched a search operation to trace them. Further investigation is underway.
