Two motorbike-borne youths snatched a mangalsutra from an elderly woman on Monday. The theft took place under the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar Police Station.
According to reports, Kusum Ramdas Pal (59) is a resident of Quarter No. 203, Vijay society, near Priyadarshini B Ed College, Sonegaon. On Monday, Kusum was riding pillion with her husband on their Activa moped (MH 31 EB 0265) at around 7.40 pm. They were heading towards their relative’s house when two motorbike-borne youths came from rear near Joggers Park, Sneh Nagar, at the road in front of Manikgarh Apartment and the pillion rider snatched her mangalsutra worth Rs 30,000. Before the elderly couple could raise an alarm, the thieves sped away.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by Kusum, Pratap Nagar police have registered an offence under Sections 392 and 34 of the IPC and started their investigations.
