Nagpur: In a sensational turn of events, senior Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday announced that Eknath Shinde will be sworn in as new Maharashtra Chief Minister.
Addressing the press conference in Mumbai, Fadnavis made this news public, which sent ripples across Maharashtra. Shinde will be sworn in as Chief Minister at around 7:30 pm, he mentioned and added that following which other portfolios will be divided among the ministers.

Following the revolt of Shiv Sena leaders from MVA Government, Shinde along with majority of Sena leaders had left for Assam. Earlier, it was speculated that Fadnavis might take over as CM while Dy CM post will be offered to ally Sena. However, the news came as shock for all the political pundits.
