After a harrowing wait for nearly 6 months and after bearing with daily hassles because of a damaged bridge situated at Jaripatka area over the Itarsi Railway line, the EGS Minister Dr Nitin Raut and Corporator of Jaripatka Suresh Jagyasi along with a delegation submitted a memorandum to the newly appointed Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) O P Singh on May 14, 2014.

While speaking to Nagpur Today, the Corporator of Jaripatka Suresh Jagyasi said that the said bridge was damaged and a total ban was enforced for all vehicular movement on the bridge. However, with the intervention of the Corporator, the bridge was opened for two-wheeler traffic. Four-wheelers had to traverse a distance of three kilometers more to reach the destinations caused by the blocking of 4-wheelers on the bridge.

The Corporator Jagyasi added that they had given Rs 28, 88,000/- towards the repair of the bridge to the Central Railway about 6 months ago. The Central Railway did call for the tenders. But the process of finalizing the tenders and giving the work-orders has not been completed as yet for reasons best known to the railways.
