EGS Minister Nitin Raut, Corporator Jagyasi demand repair of Rly bridge at Jaripatka soon

Nitin-RautNagpur News.

After a harrowing wait for nearly 6 months and after bearing with daily hassles because of a damaged bridge situated at Jaripatka area over the Itarsi Railway line, the EGS Minister Dr Nitin Raut and Corporator of Jaripatka Suresh Jagyasi along with a delegation submitted a memorandum to the newly appointed Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) O P Singh on May 14, 2014.

While speaking to Nagpur Today, the Corporator of Jaripatka Suresh Jagyasi said that the said bridge was damaged and a total ban was enforced for all vehicular movement on the bridge. However, with the intervention of the Corporator, the bridge was opened for two-wheeler traffic. Four-wheelers had to traverse a distance of three kilometers more to reach the destinations caused by the blocking of 4-wheelers on the bridge.

The Corporator Jagyasi added that they had given Rs 28, 88,000/- towards the repair of the bridge to the Central Railway about 6 months ago. The Central Railway did call for the tenders. But the process of finalizing the tenders and giving the work-orders has not been completed as yet for reasons best known to the railways.

The delegation had threatened of Rail Blockade Agitation (Rail-Roko Andolan) if the work does not start soon.

The DRM on his part immediately called his officials and directed them to start the repair work immediately.

The delegation which had met the DRM O P Singh included EGS Minister Dr Nitin Raut, Corporator Suresh Jagyasi, Congress Committee Secretary Sanjay Dubey and Congress Activist Khemchand Balwani.
