Nagpur News : A delegation of VIA members interacted with Ajit Dada Pawar, Dy. Chief Minister, and Minister for Power and Finance Government of Maharahstra, on Thursday last at Mumbai.
VIA had requested Ajit Dada Pawar to look into the matter of inordinate delay in Refund of VAT by the Sales Tax department and also placed before the Minister the issue of harassment by the Sales Tax Department to genuine buyers for Non Payment of VAT by their suppliers.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues and issued instructions to the department for immediate refund of VAT and also said that genuine VAT collectors will not be harassed for Non Payment of VAT by their suppliers. He also assured the delegation that no VAT dealer will be prosecuted.
Sanjay Bhatia Commissioner of Sales Tax was also present during the meeting. Prafull Doshi, Pravin Tapadia and Rohit Bajaj were prominently present in the meeting says a press note issued by VIA.
