Confirming the development, Nagpur Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Pakhale stated that the threat was received through a common email ID and the identity of the sender remains under investigation. “The timing of the attack has not been specified, but security has been significantly enhanced as a precaution,” he said.

Massive search, no threat found

In response, security agencies launched an extensive five-hour combing operation at Koradi and Khaparkheda plants. Teams from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Dog Squad, and Quick Response Team (QRT) conducted a thorough sweep of the premises and surrounding areas. Officials later confirmed that no suspicious objects or activity were detected during the operation.

Cyber probe deepens

Preliminary inputs suggest the email may have originated from Tamil Nadu. However, investigators from the Cyber Police are probing the possibility of IP spoofing or masking, raising concerns that the origin could have been deliberately concealed to mislead authorities.

Airspace locked down

Following the threat, strict restrictions have been imposed on drone activity in and around all four installations. Senior Security Manager Devendra Rathod confirmed that a high alert has been declared at Koradi, with additional layers of surveillance and security deployment activated.

While no immediate danger has been detected, officials are treating the threat with utmost seriousness, given the strategic importance of these power stations. The investigation is ongoing, and security agencies remain on heightened vigil to prevent any untoward incident.
