
Nagpur: A speeding passenger bus rammed into a truck on Outer Ring Road under the limits of Hudkeshwar Police Station in Nagpur early Tuesday morning. The bus driver died on the spot as the cabin was crushed. Many passengers were injured.
The accident occurred around 5.30 am, on the Outer Ring Road (Jabalpur Highway), in front of Hindustan Saoji Dhaba. According to police, a passenger bus (CG-04/QK 9936), driven by Mohammed Imran (37), a resident of Telangana, was moving at high speed. Police said the driver was driving in a rash and negligent manner when he lost control and rammed the bus into a truck (MP22/H-2888) from behind.
Due to the impact, the front cabin of the bus got badly crushed and stuck into the rear portion of the tanker. The bus driver suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. A passenger identified as Kanhaiya Vishnu Dhurve (21), a resident of Manda in Madhya Pradesh, was seriously injured in the accident. Apart from him, seven to eight other passengers also sustained injuries. All the injured persons were rushed to AIIMS Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
An offence has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
