Nagpur: In a freak incident, a truck driver lost his life when the truck he was driving plunged into a quarry from 101 feet height. The mishap took place at Surgaon village of Umred Tehsil on Tuesday morning.
The deceased truck driver has been identified as Krushna Madavi of around 35-40-year age. Krushna had taken his truck to the quarry for loading stones. Suddenly, the truck plunged from 101 feet height killing Krushna on the spot. The truck was completely smashed and was reduced mangled steel.
On being informed, police and revenue officials rushed to the spot and started investigations. A probe has been launched to ascertain whether the illegal mining was being done.
