Maharashtra Governor K. Sankaranarayanan on Wednesday appointed Dr. Vinayak Deshpande as Pro Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur university (RTMNU). Dr. Deshpande is serving as the HOD of Department of Business Management at the university and is also the Management Council Member.

After the resignation of Dr. Vilas Sapkal former Vice Chancellor(RTMNU) , Dr. Mahesh Yenkie, former Pro Vice Chancellor also had to step down. The vacant post of BCUD Director was also filled up recently. Dr. Shrikant Komawar took the charge of the Director (BCUD).
There were five aspirants vying for the post of Pro VC, namely Dr.Paliwal, Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, Dr. Murlidhar Chandekar, Dr.C.P.Deshpande and Dr.K.Bharti. The Governor finally selected Dr.Despande as Pro VC of RTMNU. Dr. Deshpande has been teaching in Department of Economics and Department of Business Management RTM Nagpur University since last 27 years.
Interacting with the mediaperson after assuming charge, Dr. Deshpande said his priority would focus on upgrading and implementing examination reforms in the University.
