Dr Narendra Jadhav inaugurates Indradhunashya

Nagpur: “Every student should have a big dream along with the conviction. The motto of education is to take out the best that is hidden in you. There is no yardstick to judge the success, and such cultural fests play an important part in shaping the personality of the students, so whatever you do, go at the top in it,” said Dr Narendra Jadhav, economist and former member of national Planning Commission Dr Narendra Jadhav here on Friday.

Dr Jadhav was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration function of 13th Maharashtra State Inter University Cultural Youth Festival Indradhanushya-15, hosted by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur university(RTMNU) at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande hall. Those prominently present on dais were vice-chancellor of RTMNU, Dr S P Kane, vice- chancellor Savitribai Phule Pune University Dr Vasudev Gade, vice- chancellor Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University Dr Mohan Khedkar, pro vice-chancellor of RTMNU Dr Pramod Yeole, BCUD director Dr D K Agrawal, director of student welfare Nihal Sheikh, BCUD director North Maharashtra university D G Hundiwale, S R Morade and Dr Sharad Patil.

Dr Jadhav further said Maharashtra has a huge contribution in the field of social, culture and literature. The Marathi literature and writers understood the pulse of the people and Maharashtra has a history of secular thoughts. Maharashtra has a very rich culture, literature and ideological thoughts.Even Marathi films are doing good and making its presence felt not only in India but in Oscar awards also.

While guiding the students, Jadhav remembered one of his childhood incidents, wherein his father who was farmer gave him the best wisdom which he could not find in any of the renowned universities he studied. Jadhav said that I had stood topper in my class and my father asked me what do you want to become in future.That time I could not reply to him, but then what my father said to me changed the course of my life. He said, ” What ever you do in your life , do it to the best of your capabilities and be a topper in it.”
VC of Amravati university Dr Khedekar in a address said, he is a proud student of Nagpur and Indradhanushya is a very inclusive platform where everybody gets an equal chance to showcase their talent, also adding that a person must pursue any art that interests him.

VC of Pune University Dr Vasudev Gade said that Maharashtra has very rich cultural heritage. Indradhanushya has given a lot of good artists to the industry. He also added that Aavishkar, Avhan, Ashvamedh and Indradhanushya all the cultural events play an important role in life of a student. VC of RTMNU Dr S P Kane invited the students from different universities to enjoy the hospitality from the people of Vidarbha. Dr Nihal Sheikh gave an overview of the program along with the details of the events. Puran Meshram proposed the vote of thanks.
