Nagpur: Maharashtra Governor C.Vidyasagar Rao on Monday appointed Dr Murlidhar Chandekar as Pro Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur university (RTMNU). Dr. Chandekar is serving as Principal of VMV College.
After the former Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Vinayak Deshpande taking the post of Vice Chancellor (RTMNU) ,the post of Pro VC got vacant .Now Governor has appointed Dr Murlidhar Chandekar as Pro VC.
Earlier former Vice chancellor Anoop Kumar had sent five aspirants name vying for the post of Pro VC, namely Dr.Paliwal, Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, Dr. Murlidhar Chandekar, Dr.C.P.Deshpande and Dr.K.Bharti. The Governor had selected Dr.Despande as Pro VC of RTMNU. But after elavation of Dr. Vinayak Deshpande as Vice Chancellor, the post of Pro VC would remain vacant for 2-3 months.However, according to information due to heavy examination work presssue , it became necessary to fill up the post of Pro VC.
VC Deshpande had few days back had sent the the name of Dr Murlidhar Chandekar to Governor’s office and got the assent on the same on Monday November 10, 2014.
Dr Murlidhar Chandekar is the Principal of VMV college from 2010. He is also the Senate member of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, (YCMOU) Nashik . He was also the Governor nominated Management council member of YCMOU.
