Dr A P J Kalam’s portrait unveiled in NMC to mark his birth anniversary

Nagpur: The Mayor Pravin Datke on Thursday unveiled an oil portrait of former President of India Bharat Ratna late Dr A P J Abdul Kalam at NMC’s New Administrative Building in Civil Lines. The programme marked the birth anniversary of Dr Kalam which is celebrated on October 15.

The programme was attended among others by Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Senior Corporator Sunil Agrawal, former Deputy Mayor Jaitunnabi Ansari, Additional Municipal Commissioners Nayana Gunde, R Z Siddiqui, Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Kakde, Additional Deputy Commissioners Ravindra Bhusari, Jayant Dandegaonkar, Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Dhamecha, NMC Secretary Harish Dubey, and a host of NMC officials and others.

The Mayor garlanded the oil portrait of Dr A P J Kalam to pay his tributes and said the former President was known all over the world for his simplicity. The citizens of Nagpur emulate Dr Kalam’s principles and follow his ideals, said Datke.

The function was conducted by NMC PRO Ashok Kolhatkar.
