National Mathematics Day was celebrated in DPS MIHAN on 22 December to commemorate the birth anniversary of the famous mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan who had made remarkable contributions to various fields of mathematics and its branches.
Various mathematical activities were conducted for the students to develop problem solving, logical thinking, critical analysis and reasoning skills amongst them.
Interesting activities that made the learning of subject in a fun way were taken up for Grades I- VIII.
Learning addition of odd and even numbers through a fun game, Understanding shapes through a quiz, Practicing division in real life situations ,Finding the Escape route and solving a Brain Teaser were some innovative and creative activities in which students enthusiastically participated.
A special assembly was also conducted for all the students wherein some interesting facts related to Mathematics were shared along with an enactment showcasing some interesting anecdotes from the life of Ramanujam that was presented by the students to commemorate the occasion.
Principal Ms Nidhi Yadav appreciated the efforts of the students to participate enthusiastically in all the activities. Overall, it was a good learning experience for the students wherein they learnt the significance of Mathematics for the betterment of humanity.
