In a heartwarming display of community spirit, DPS Lava Pre-Primary Branch, in partnership with The Metropolitan Institute and media partner Nagpur Today, successfully conducted its inaugural “Hands of Kindness” outreach event on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
The event took place at the Shaskiya Mulinche Balgruha (Government Girls’ Shelter Home) on Katol Road, marking the next chapter in the school’s commitment to social responsibility.

Following the immense success of the recent “Dandiya Dhamaal” fundraiser, the school sought to translate the funds raised into direct, meaningful engagement. Guided by the core institutional value of “Service Before Self,” the initiative aimed to bring the entire DPS Lava community—teachers, parents, and students—together to share joy and companionship with
the girls at the shelter.
The afternoon focused on creativity and wellness. Mrs. Arwa, a dedicated parent volunteer, led a vibrant “Tie and Dye” workshop where the girls created their own colorful patterns on cloth. Additionally, renowned Dietician Ms. Vinita Mehta from Nutribliss Clinic conducted an interactive session, busting common myths around health and nutrition to encourage better lifestyle choices.
Through initiatives like ‘Hands of Kindness’, DPS Lava aims to continue this meaningful work, ensuring that the values of empathy and service remain at the heart of the school’s mission. The institution looks forward to organizing more such events to spread joy and support to every corner of the community
