dog-mainChennai: A dog, which was flung from a rooftop in Chennai by a man, has been found to be alive and safe, thanks to the power of social media.

Days after a viral video showed the dog being thrown mercilessly from a rooftop, Shravan Krishnan, one of the animal activists involved in the investigation, posted on Facebook to assure everyone that the dog is not able to walk properly, but is under treatment.

“What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail,” Shravan wrote.

Many doubted if it’s the same dog which Sharavan assured it was. “We were called upon to come and check on the dog and take her for treatment. We confirmed she was the same dog cause the video looked like she was a female dog, there is a small black patch on her tail, her hind legs are injured and she wasn’t able to move properly,” he wrote.

The dog, that they named Bhadra, is now with the team, being fed well and under treatment. One of her videos has been shared on Twitter.

As for the culprits, the two have reached Chennai after being on the run for two days. Their parents were told by the college principal that they would not be allowed to appear for examination if they don’t surrender. “The police have sent 2 teams to arrest the culprits. They have spoken to their parents and told them to surrender at the Kundrathur police station ASAP. The suspect’s parents have promised to bring them in by tonight,” he wrote.
