Nagpur: Pachpaoli police have booked a doctor, his wife, and four others on the charges of cheating a partnership firm to the tune of Rs 1.34 crore in a dubious business deal. All the accused are Directors of a company named NGP Agro Buildcon Private Limited.

The accused have been identified as Dr Rajesh Tulshiram Baghe (49), Rashmi Rajesh Baghe (42), both residents of MHADA Colony, near RTO Office, Amravati Road, Yogesh Pandharinath Khandare (50), a resident of Vaishali Nagar, Avinash Wasudeo Khobragade (45), a resident of Plot No 202, Misal Layout, Mangalwari Bazaar, Sadar, Satish Kalidas Meshram (50), a resident of Jagrut Nagar and Yograj Rustamji Waghmare (44), a resident of NIT Quarter No A/16, Kapil Nagar.

The comlainant, Praful Bhaurao Wahadude (44), a resident 352, Shree Nagar, Empress Mill Society, Ring Road, told police that the directors of NGP Agro Buildcon Private Limited had signed an agreement with his Central Scan firm as they required manpower and finance for running a pharmacy, CT Scan, sonography and x-ray centre. Wahadude, who is one of the three partners of Central Scan, stated that the lease agreement was signed on August 10, 2018. As per the agreement, the Central Scan had to pay Rs 2.25 crore as security deposit for five years and was to get two per cent profit (monthly income of Rs 4.50 lakh). If the income increased, the firm was to get 50 per cent profit. Following an assurance by the Directors of NGP Agro Buildcon Private Limited, Wahadude and two of his partners — Saurav Meshram and Vilas Nitnawre — invested Rs 1.18 crore.

After getting the amount, the accused directors of NGP Agro Buildcon Private Limited installed a CT Scan machine and x-ray unit. However, they did not set up the pharmacy and sonography centre. As a result, Central Scan suffered losses. When Wahadude and his partners asked the directors to return the security deposit, they issued rubber cheques. Likewise, company directors conspired and allegedly duped Wahadude and his partners of Rs 1.34 crore.

On the basis of Wahadude’s complaint, Panchpaoli police registered an offence under Sections 420, 406, 409, 120(b) of the IPC against the accused persons. Further probe is underway.
