Doctor booked for duping woman in Wadi

Nagpur: Wadi police have booked a doctor on the charges of defrauding a woman to the tune of Rs 42,000 on the pretext of admission to nursing course and a job.

A resident of Raghupati Nagar, Kondhali, Priyanka Suresh Pradhan (18) told police that the accused Sunil Ramdas Bhokre (34), resident of Kohle Layout, Khadgaon Road, Wadi, who runs a clinic at Tekdi Wadi, ‘promised’ her with admission to nursing course and a job after completion of the course.

In return, the accused took Rs 40,000 from her from time to time. The accused also took from Priyanka educational documents and promised to purchase a moped for her. For moped, the accused took Rs 1800 as instalments. However, the accused neither provided Priyanka admission to nursing course nor returned her money.

Wadi PSI Deshmukh has booked the accused under Sections 406, 420 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
