Nagpur: The organization of the backward castes has recommended NT and VJNT castes, beggars and other tribes included in the schedule of other backward classes. The organization has asked the National Backward Classes Commission to include these castes in the OBC list ‘A’. In October last year, on the orders of PM Narendra Modi, the Commission was formed for the classification of OBC castes. The objective of the formation of this commission is to provide benefits to the reservation of backward castes.
Backward Class Welfare Association’s President R. Krishnayya has written a letter to the Commission asking the beggars, NT/VJNT castes to be included in OBC list ‘A’. It has been stated in the letter that the caste and other workmanship related work should be included in OBC’s Group B list of those whose jobs and education are less than 50 percent in proportion to their population.
According to the letter, castes belonging to more than 50 percent of artisans and other workmanship should be included in Group C in proportion to the population of educated and employmed. Apart from this, the caste and other industries belonging to the industries should be included in Group D. According to the letter, some castes of Harijans, Christians and Muslims should be included in ‘E’ list of OBCs.
