Delay in RTMNU results sparks student outrage, academic concerns

Nagpur: A serious academic concern has emerged at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, as students have raised alarm over significant delays in the declaration of B.Tech third semester (NEP) examination results, coupled with alleged mismanagement throughout the semester.

According to students, it has been over 95 days since the examinations were conducted, yet the university has failed to announce the results. The prolonged delay has left thousands of students in a state of uncertainty, affecting their academic progression and causing considerable mental stress.

Students claim that the problems began much earlier, during the conduct of the semester itself. The entire academic term was reportedly compressed into a duration of barely two months, during which students had to simultaneously manage external practical examinations, two sessional exams, and multiple internal assessments. Many have described the schedule as “unbalanced and poorly planned.”

Adding to the concerns, practical examinations were conducted before the theory exams, an approach students argue is academically unsound and deprived them of adequate preparation time. The examination timetable, they say, was frequently altered at short notice, with inadequate communication from the administration, further complicating preparation.

There were also reports of delays and mismanagement in conducting practical exams, forcing students to juggle multiple evaluations at the same time. This overlapping of assessments reportedly led to increased academic pressure and impacted overall performance.

Despite these challenges, the continued delay in result declaration has become the primary point of contention. Students say the lack of clarity and communication from the university has worsened the situation, leaving them unable to plan for the upcoming semester, apply for internships, or make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

Students have now appealed for immediate intervention, urging authorities to address the issue and ensure timely declaration of results. They have also called for systemic reforms in academic planning and examination management to prevent such situations in the future.

The university administration has yet to issue an official statement regarding the delay, even as concerns continue to mount among the student community.
