Nagpur: The Education Department of Nagpur Zilla Parishad has extended the date of admissions to be taken under Right to Education (RTE) Act to June 3. As per earlier schedule, the last date was May 27, but the Education Director of Primary Education Directorate has extended the date, informed Rohini Kumbhar, Primary Education Officer.

Those parents who have not contacted Taluka Scrutiny Committee for the admission of their wards can get the benefit of the date extension. Messages have been already sent to parents whose wards were selected for the admissions. Parents can check the selection status of their wards on ‘www.students.maharashtra.gov.in’. The application-wise details are available on the RTE portal and parents should make use of it.

Parents should carry the print copy of the allotment letter, necessary documents at Taluka Scrutiny Centre and confirm the admission. The receipt of confirmation of admission should be submitted with the school. Parents should not take children with them when they go to Taluka Scrutiny Committee, appealed Rohini Kumbhar.

In Nagpur 31,411 students have applied to get the admission under Right to Education Act (RTE) in schools. There are 663 schools where the quota of 25% seats is kept for the admissions to be made under RTE. After the final scrutiny 6,106 are found eligible to get admissions. So far, the figure for total admissions done (Round 1 and 2) stands at 4804 (77.65).
