Upon arrival, the firemen located the woman and observed smoke emanating from her kitchen. According to Officiating Chief Fire Officer BP Chandankhede, the team quickly assessed that a direct ladder from below would not reach the third floor, and deploying the turntable ladder would take additional time. Consequently, Uike was lowered from the fourth to the third floor using ropes. He entered through the balcony of the adjacent bedroom, broke the door, and rescued the woman.

The heroic efforts of Uike and his team were widely applauded. “It was found that Pandey had left milk boiling on the gas stove, which had completely boiled over and burned,” said Uike. The quick and efficient response of the Sakkardara Fire Station personnel prevented what could have been a tragic incident.

The successful rescue operation highlights the bravery and dedication of Nagpur’s Fire Department, ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.
