Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DICCI) convention Concluded

Nagpur News:  Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries has done a commendable job of bringing dalits into the main stream of industry and trade”, said national president of BJP, Nitin Gadkari here on Tuesday.

He was speaking as a chief guest at the concluding function of 3-day DICCI convention at St Ursula School ground here.

Gadkari further said that the issue of development of dalits in the country has a historical connect. It is unfortunate that the community could not progress due to rigid caste system. “Notwithstanding, you have potential to change the face of society and economy,” he observed. President of Republican Party of India, Ramdas Athavale exhorted the dalit entrepreneurs to come out of their shell for setting up enterprises.

DICCI would always come forward to help them. President of DICCI, Milind Kamble said DICCI has created conducive atmosphere for dalits to set up their own shops. There are about 1.5 lakh dalit entrepreneurs who play their part in the economic development by paying taxes to the government, he observed.

South-West Nagpur MLA, Devendra Fadnavis said the expo would prove to be a milestone in the history of Nagpur and dalits. Vice-president of Nagpur chapter of DICCI, Nishchay Shelke conducted the programme.

Sanjay Gosawi, treasurer, Ashwin Kapse, secretary, Gopal Wasnik, Dr Sushant Meshram, MLA, Tukaram Bidkar and others were also present. President of DICCI, Milind Kamble said DICCI has created conducive atmosphere for dalits to set up their own shops.
