Dal mill owner dupes Central Bank of India of Rs 77 lakh in loan deal

A dal mill owner has been booked by Tehsil police on the charges of cheating a nationalized bank to the tune of Rs 77 lakh by way of mortgaging government acquired land and procuring the loan from the bank.

The accused has been identified as Adresh Kumar, resident of Ambe Dal Mill, near Teli Samaj Bhavan, Anaj Bazaar, Nagpur. The land of Ambe Dal Mill, owned by the accused Adresh Kumar, was acquisitioned by NHAI on behalf of government in 2013 and a compensation of Rs 36.33 lakh was paid to him. However, instead of returning a loan of procured from a bank, the accused submitted the documents of the dal mill and mortgaged it with Central Bank of India, Itwari Branch and procured a loan of Rs 77 lakh on the acquired land.

Tehsil police, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Senior Manager of Central Bank of India Shilendra Kumar Shrinarayan Das (32) of MB Town, Surya Nagar, have booked the accused under Section 420 of the IPC and investigating the matter further.
