Nagpur: A shocking case has emerged from Nagpur after a months-long exploitation racket began at a party held inside the well-known Dabo Lounge Pub on Wardha Road. Khaparkheda Police have registered a serious case of rape, blackmail, and exploitation against Shubham Mohan Mehandadole (31), a WCL employee and resident of Saoner, for allegedly abusing a 21-year-old student from Chhattisgarh who had come to Nagpur for her studies.
Drunken student, and the assault that unfolded on the backseat of a car
On the night of April 27, the student had gone to Dabo Lounge Pub for a party organized by her friend. Her friend, the friend’s boyfriend, and the accused Shubham were present. Heavy drinking continued late into the night. The student became severely intoxicated, nearly unconscious, and began vomiting.

Around 2 a.m., the group left in a car. When the student regained partial consciousness, she found herself on the backseat of the parked car near Pipla Dak Bungalow, with Shubham beside her. In her intoxicated and semi-conscious state, she was unable to resist. At that moment, her friend and the friend’s boyfriend had stepped out to get food.
Blackmail with photos the next day, false promise of marriage, and six months of exploitation
The following day, Shubham called the student to meet him. He showed her objectionable photos taken during the night of the party and used them to gain control over her, assuring her he intended to marry her.
According to the student’s complaint, Shubham repeatedly called her to meet him, forced physical relations, and continued exploiting her for six months. When she finally asked him about marriage, he began avoiding her and eventually refused outright.
FIR registered after going from one police station to another
Feeling trapped and harassed, the student first approached Sonegaon Police Station. Since the incident had occurred near Pipla Dak Bungalow, she was directed to Khaparkheda Police Station. Based on her detailed statement, police registered charges of rape, blackmail, and exploitation. The investigation is now underway.
Questions raised again about Dabo Lounge Pub -previous serious incidents resurface
Nagpur’s popular Dabo Lounge Pub has been in the spotlight earlier as well due to multiple controversies.
– In one incident, a married woman was harassed, and her husband was allegedly assaulted.
– In another case, a young woman was found on the road creating a scene in a semi-nude condition.
Despite previous police action, the pub’s activities are once again under scrutiny — especially since Sonegaon Police Station is located just a short distance away.
