Nagpur: In view of recent demonetization prompting cashless move, there has been significant increase in online transaction. Following this, more and more people are gradually inclined towards online shopping, social media tool and similar other likes in the daily life. However, taking advantage of this, few unscrupulous elements have been luring innocent customers into their trap. Waking up to the alarming online frauds, Nagpur police has established a special cyber cell to tame the online frauds. Citizens can lodge their complaints at the newly set up cyber complaint redressal forum.
For a considerable period of time, Nagpur police department has been lacking consolidated system to tackle the cyber crime. This was only adding to the woes of the citizens. Till now, in case of any cyber crime, the citizens have to first approach to the police station which forward the complaints to the cyber cell. This has been sucking a considerable amount of time due to lack of proper technical knowledge at the end cyber cell experts.
Now with the formation of Cyber complaint redressal cell, the citizens will be at ease in lodging the complaints. However sources said there has been an alarming lack of expertise on the end of policemen. A lot needs to be done on technical count, added a source.
