Customers, employees of beer bar clash over bill money in Imambada; 11 arrested

Nagpur: A group of rowdy customers ransacked a beer bar and also attacked the manager and other employees over bill payment. On the other hand, the employees of the bear bar assaulted the rampaging accused customers with broken bottles to settle scores. The heady clash left at least 10 clashers injured. Acting on the complaint and counter complaint, cops have arrested 11 persons in this connection. The incident took place at Rajani Beer Bar at Aware Square in Imambada area on Friday night.

According to police, a group of six customers identified as Aniket Kiran Burade (25), Rakesh sanjay Deshmukh (23), Roshan Keshav Somkuwar, Pankaj Prabhakar Sathavane (21), all residents of Somwari Quarters, and their two unidentified friends went to Rajani Beer Bar around 10.45 pm on Friday and enjoyed a glass or two of the chilled stuff. But when the manager of the beer bar, Suresh Pandurang Dahikar (47) of New Nandanvan Layout, demanded bill money, the accused customers hurled abuses on him in a menacing posture. Taken aback by nasty act, Dahikar asked them to behave properly. Enraged by the “diktat,” the six accused customers ransacked the bar, broke liquor bottles and attacked Dahikar.

Imamabada PSI J S Pawar booked the six accused customers under Sections 143, 144, 149, 323, 324, 504, 427 of the IPC and placed them under arrest.

However, in the counter complaint, Pankaj Prabhakar Sathavane told police that the accused Suresh Pandurang Dahikar, Avinash Krushna Saratkar (37) of Siraspeth, Arun Ramkrishna Deshmukh (55) of Saraipeth and their two accomplices picked a quarrel with them over bill payment, downed shutters of beer bar and attacked them with broken bottles. The attack caused injuries to him and his friends.

Acting on the counter complaint, PSI Pawar booked the accused under Sections 143, 144, 149, 323, 324, 504, 427 of the IPC and arrested them as well.
