Criminals break open unguarded ATM near Medical College but fail to burgle a big cash

The Indian Overseas Bank Branch situated in Untkhana, Hanuman Nagar was saved of lakhs of rupees as some burglars failed to break open cash box of its ATM located on Ashirvad Talkies-Medical College Road.

The incident occurred in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Some burglars first tried to open the door of the ATM. But since the door opens only after swapping of ATM card, the burglars smashed the door lock itself and also door glass and entered into the ATM. After entering the ATM, the criminals tried hard to break open the cash box of the ATM but could not succeed. They tampered the entire ATM machine in order to crack the cash box but failed in their attempts. The frustrated thieves left the ATM without any cash.

The broken door and other parts of ATM came to notice on Monday morning when some customers went to the ATM for withdrawing cash. The Imambada police were immediately informed of the incident. The Imambada Assistant Police Inspector Pandurang Fade and his team reached the ATM. The police called the Fingerprint Experts who inspected the entire ATM and took fingerprints of burglars. The CCTV, installed at the ATM, has captured photos of the criminals. Police have took custody of the CCTV footage and investigating the matter further.
