Crime Branch team arrests seven with nylon manja

Nagpur: UNIT No. 3 of the Crime Branch arrested seven persons for selling and purchasing banned nylon manja. The police have seized 84 reels of nylon manja worth Rs 1.13 lakh from the accused, police officials said.

The accused have been identified as Abhijeet Kailas Shende (23),Yogesh Suresh Mohurle (26), both residents of Digdoh Devi, MIDC; Mustaikin Abdul Hameed Sheikh (21), a resident of Hasanbagh, Pappu Rameshwar Shahu (28), a resident of Narsala Road, Telephone Nagar, Dighori and Rohit Pradeep Koyre (19), a resident of Shivaji Nagar. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Shende and Mohurle and the three others and seized 27 manja reels, Rs 2,100 cash and a motorcycle from their possession.

During interrogation the accused revealed the names of Karan Sanjay Pimpadikar (22), a resident of Gadge Nagar, Nandanvan and Sahil Ramesh Shahu (21), a resident of Lakadganj. The police team arrested the accused from their house on Sunday and seized 48 reels of nylon manja from their possession. Two cases were registered against the accused persons at MIDC and Wathoda police stations.

Under the guidance of DCP Detection Chinmay Pandit, the arrest was made by PI Pradip Rayannawar, API Pawan More, Madhuri Nerkar and staff including Ishwar Khorde, Ramchandra Karemore, Yaam Anuthalewar, Vijay Shriwas, Dashrath Mishra, Milind Choudhary, Tappulal Chute, Anup Taywade, Satish Pande, Anil Botare, Santosh Choudhary, Mangesh Madavi, Deepak Lakde, Varsha Hatwar and others.
