Nagpur: Under the jurisdiction of Butibori police station, the city crime branch squad, following the secret information it gathered from its sources, laid a nakabandi and seized a stock of illicitly transported liquor on Nagpur-Chandrapur road, near Toll Naka, on Sept 8. The accused, named, Pravin Omprakash Jadhav (23), resident of Bela was arrested and the vehicle Maruti Suzuki 800 No. MH-36/ 4683 was seized.
The seizure included 10 cortons of country liquor valuing about Rs 24,000 and with the cost of vehicle, total seizure valued about Rs 1,14,000. Butibori police have registered a case under section 65 (i), (a) of Mumbai Prohibition Act against the accused who is under arrest. The crime branch is further investigating the case.
The seizure was enacted under the guidance of SP (Rural) Dr Arti Singh by PI Satish Govekar, PHC Pramod Bansod, PCS Mudassar Jamal, Suresh Gatey, Avinash Raut and Rashid Sheikh.
