Crime branch seized 3 lakh gold from two chain snatchers

Nagpur News : Nine months after releasing from jail, two notorious chain snatchers again landed in police net spread by crime branch police officials. Initial interrogation has led to recovery of Rs 3 lakh gold from Manjur Khan Pathan, 28, a resident of Vandevi Nagar and Mohammad Tanveer Azhar, 25 from Yashodhara Nagar.

The duo was wanted in chain snatching cases at five police stations. Police informed that both accused are learnt to be a member of notorious goon and chain snatcher Shanu.

The youths have confessed of committing chain snatchings in Pachpaoli, Lakadganj, Imambada, Gittikhadan and Jaripatka police station areas. Cops told that the duo has recently robbed a woman- Varsha Indurkar at knife point under the jurisdiction of Jaripatka police station.

Police told that both were released from jail in February while Shanu- gang leader, was released in August. Since then, the youths planned the crime together. Cops have been questioning about jewellers and other people involved selling the stolen gold ornaments.
