Nagpur: The sleuths of Crime Branch of Nagpur Police on Thursday nabbed accused Vicky Chakole (28), who tried to fire a pistol at a Paramedical Student of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on November 22.

Cops have nabbed accused from Nagpur Railway Station. Earlier, Nagpur Police had sent several teams to various places including Amravati and Pune in search of Vicky, a resident of Khaparkheda.

It is pertinent to mention that, Vicky had posed himself from an elite family and befriended the women through Facebook around four months back. However, when the medical student got to know about the reality, she immediately stopped talking to Chakole. This had irked him. Following which, Vicky accosted the girl at GMCH and pointed a gun at her temple. Following the outrageous incident, the girl approached Ajni Police and filed a complaint.

Though, Nagpur Police have formed several teams and sent them to various locations to trace Vicky but no avail. To evade the arrest, Vicky had reportedly turned off his mobile phone.

Following the tip off the team of Crime Branch comprising PI Vishwanath Chauhan, API mayur Chaurasia, API Jitendra Thakur, PSI balaram Zadokar, PSI Atul Ingole and constabulary staff laid a trap near railway station and caught him. During Vicky’s physical search cops found a pistol and a live round which they immediately confiscated from him.

The action was planned under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Aswathi Dorje, Additional CP (Crime) Sunil Fulari and DCP (Detection) Chinmay Pandit.

Security arrangements at GMCH have been beefed up since the incident.
