City crime branch arrested a gang of five armed notorious criminals gathered to plan youth’s murder contract given by his girlfriend’s kin.
Police arrested Afsar Ali Akbar Ali, 23, a resident of Tajbagh; Waseem Azgar Ali, 26; Shaikh Aseef, Kunal Tagde and Rajput Pateki. Cops have seized sharp weapons, mobile phones and vehicles from the the gang. Police informed that two among the five arrested are accused in Balu Mandpe murder case. Afsar and Waseem were released on parole in 2011 and were absconding since then.
According to police, all five have confessed that they were given the contract to kill a 24-year-old youth in Rs 4 lakh. They also confessed that the girl’s family has given the contract as they were against their love affair. The murder was planned in the next week.
The girl’s family had assured to pay Rs 2 lakh a day before the murder. Police are further interrogating the arrested youths.
