Nagpur: The sleuths of Nagpur Crime Branch busted a prostitution racket in Ajni and arrested a pimp here, on Wednesday. The cops rescued one girl from the clutches of the accused pimp identified as Munnibai Maqsood Pathan (45), a resident of Tajnagar Gali No. 2.
According to police sources, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime, Gajanan Rajmande had received a tip-off regarding the immortal business operating in Ajni. Acting swiftly on the inputs, special squad of DCP Rajmane comprising Senior Police Inspector (PI) Dyaneshwar Bhosle, API Rekha Sakpal, Constable Anil Ambade, NPC Rashid Khan, Sandeep, WPC Pratima, PC Ajay, Chetan first confirmed the inputs and later conducted raid. Cops nabbed accused Munnibai and seized materials worth Rs 8,000 from her possession. Munnibai used to lure gullible girls on the pretext of easy money and would forced them into prostitution.
The action was planned under the supervision of Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Sunil Phulari, DCP Gajanan Rajmane and ACP Nalawade.
